If you wanted something in Crescent, you had to fight for it. Crecsent was a kingdom based on competing for what you want and overcoming obstacles. Crescent's inhabitants included spiked lizards, wild coyotes, various bird of prey, and armadillos. All throughout the history of Crescent there had been competition. When the first settlers discovered Crescent and it's untapped potential and resources they fought for the best land to start their villages. Then those villagers fought to claim the title of tribal leader. Now those leaders fight each other to prove that they rule supreme over all others. This cycle of fighting and competition had gone on for generations, creating a natural pecking order from the strongest to the weakest. While the outside world shunned Crescent's competitive nature and harsh desert landscape, Crescentians saw it as a land of opportunity. Crescent's competitive spirit ensured that the weak are flushed out so that the strong may lead them to greatness, and none were stronger than the king.

The first king, Gorthal, was a coyote warlord so powerful that he was able to force all the other tribes into submission. It was even rumored he had defeated an entire army by himself. The tribes that hadn't been destroyed or ravaged surrendered without hesitation, hoping they might be spared from his wrath and carnage. Ever since then a royal family of coyotes had watched over Crescent, providing new heirs to take the throne and maintain order. The rest of the royal family was trained to represent Crescent's strength and to act as the king's entourage since the king was constantly watching the tribes to keep them in line. The royal family also took care of most foreign affairs and negotiations in his place. When a king was either deemed too weak to rule, was surpassed by his heir, or surrendered  his position as king, the best heir to the throne was selected and claimed the throne for himself. But as the tribes grew and expanded, the king lost power and control over them and the kingdom had begun struggling as a whole. King Helios worked tirelessly to regain control over the multiple tribes and leaders while his 2 sons struggled to prove that they are worthy to become the next king.

The eldest of the two was Orion. He had dark grey fur and mis-colored eyes, one was red like his father's and the other was blue like his mother's. Many thought he looked more like a wolf than a coyote but they kept it to themselves. Unlike most young boys in Crescent, Orion was quiet and thoughtful. He was very strategic when he acted and he spent most of his time reading and hunting while most children were out playing. When he was trained in combat he opted for axes and bows while his peers took to maces and hammers. Some saw his behavior and silent attitude as a sign of weakness but for the most part he was highly respected among the royal court. When he was 11 years old, Orion discovered his royal gift, Blazing Rage, when he was attacked by a feral boar on one of his hunting trips. He was able to create black fire fueled by his anger, making him a deadly adversary and a force to be reckoned with.

His brother, Vexis, was born 4 months after him. Vexis had a tan, light brown colored fur like sand and his eyes were a light green. Vexis was brute-like in nature and he made it shockingly apparent. From an early age Vexis had shown large athletic potential and he had trained and worked out to the point of peak fitness. He quickly defeated anyone who opposed him, but due to his rash nature he was often caught in scandalous affairs which gave him a less the respectable reputation. He was often found flirting with the servants and other women of the royal court but he had yet to find anyone willing to put up with him. He had discovered his royal gift in the middle of a wrestling match which led to a catastrophic accident. He had the ability to create a layer of rock armor around himself giving him enhanced protection and strength, called The Stone Heart.

Vexis envied his brother greatly but he knew that even with his immense strength he could not defeat his brother in combat, putting them at a silent standoff. As they grew, so did the pressure between them. Their rivalry had become extremely heated and spiteful, yet they were unable to directly challenge each other. When they were 17 it seemed they had reached a boiling point. The tension was so high between them they couldn't even be in the same room as each other. Luckily, they traveled often on royal business of personal matters so they didn't see each other much. Their father was reaching his 40's and it was rumored that he planned to declare an heir soon, so Orion and Vexis had to impress their father at all costs if they hoped to earn the throne. They were willing to do whatever it took to become the next king. But what happens when you go too far? What happens when you lose everything you've know and everyone you've ever loved? This is the story of two brothers pitted against each other in a bitter rivalry. This is the story of clashing tribes and a kingdom on the brink of civil war. This is the story of Orion the determined, and how he became the king of Crescent
